Nine Inch Nails played the first show of Hate Tour at The I-Beam in San Francisco, CA, on May 23, 1990. Meat Beat Manifesto was the opening band.

• The show marked the first live performance of "Suck", a song co-written by Trent Reznor and the band Pigface. The song will later appear in reworked form on 1992 EP Broken.
