This is a list of bands and artists related to NIN in some significant way. Some have toured with NIN (as openers, as co-headliners or as headliners), some have collaborated with NIN and Trent Reznor and some are other projects of past NIN members.

Army of Anyone

Army of Anyone is a Richard Patrick project, featuring the DeLeo brothers from Stone Temple Pilots. Their first record came out late 2006.

Bird Blobs

Bird Blobs is an Australian garage rock band who opened for NIN during the With Teeth International Tour in 2005.

Black Light Burns

As the successor to The Damning Well, Black Light Burns also includes Danny Lohner on guitar/keyboards/sound design, Josh Eustis on keyboards and sound design and Josh Freese on drums. However, like NIN, this is mainly Wes Borland's project in the studio, with the other musicians serving for the live component.

Boris

Boris is a Japanese experimental band who opened for NIN during the Lights In The Sky Tour in 2008.

The Bug

The Bug (aka Kevin Martin) is a British electronic artist who opened for NIN during the Lights In The Sky Tour in 2008.

Carre Calloway

Carre Calloway is an American singer/songwriter who opened for NIN during the With Teeth Club Tour in 2005.

Chemlab is an American industrial band who opened for NIN during the Hate and Sin tours in 1990/1991.

Crystal Castles is a Canadian electronic band who opened for NIN during the Lights In The Sky Tour in 2008. They were featured on the tour EP.

Brody Dalle

Brody Dalle is an Australian singer/songwriter who opened for NIN and Queens Of The Stone Age during their co-headlining tour in 2014.

The Damning Well

The Damning Well is a rock band comprising several NIN members: Richard Patrick on vocals, Danny Lohner, Josh Freese on drums and Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit on guitar.

Eagles Of Death Metal is an American hard rock band who opened for NIN during the With Teeth International Tour in 2005.

Alec Empire is a German electronic artist who opened for NIN during the Performance 2007 tour and Wave Goodbye Tour in 2009. He is a member of Atari Teenage Riot.

Explosions In The Sky is an American post-rock band who opened for NIN during the Tension 2013 Tour.

Fem 2 Fem

Fem 2 Fem is an American techno band who opened for NIN during the Self Destruct Tour in 1994.

Filter

Filter was formed by Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang after their departure from NIN, for which Patrick was the touring guitarist during the Pretty Hate Machine era. Liesegang soon quit Filter after their first record, leaving the band as the studio project of Richard Patrick and a revolving group of other members.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is a Canadian post-rock band who opened for NIN during the Tension 2013 Tour.

Guns N' Roses

Robin Finck and Josh Freese have played for Guns N' Roses. Chris Vrenna was also invited to join the band, but turned it down. Various hidden references to GNR exist in nin.com's "current" photos. NIN played a few shows as a supporting band for GNR in 1991.

HEALTH

HEALTH is an American noise rock band who opened for NIN during the Lights In The Sky Tour in 2008 and the Wave Goodbye Tour in 2009.

Helmet

Helmet is an American alt metal band who opened for NIN during the Fall 1995 Club Tour.

Hole

Hole is an American alternative band who opened for NIN during the Further Down The Spiral tour in 1994/1995.

The Horrors

The Horrors is a British alternative band who opened for NIN during the Wave Goodbye Tour in 2009.

Jaguar Love

Jaguar Love is an American post-punk band who opened for NIN during the Wave Goodbye Tour in 2009.

Jim Rose Circus

A freak show/circus troupe that supported Nine Inch Nails in the 1994/1995 tours. They are unusual in this aspect as they are one of, if not the only, non-musical group to support NIN.

Meat Beat Manifesto

Meat Beat Manifesto is an English electronic band. They have remixed "Closer" and "The Perfect Drug". They opened for NIN during the Hate Tour in 1990 and once again for the 1996/09/05 Nights of Nothing show in New York, NY. MBM was once signed to Nothing Records.

The Melvins

The Melvins is an American alternative band who opened for NIN during the Further Down The Spiral Tour in 1994/1995.

Moving Units

Moving Units is an American dance-punk band who opened for NIN during the With Teeth Spring Arena Tour in 2006.

nearLY

nearLY is Jerome Dillon's solo project. The album reminder (2005) is inspired by Dillon's recurring dream.

Oneohtrix Point Never

Oneohtrix Point Never (aka Daniel Lopatin) is an American electronic artist who opened for NIN during the NIN + Soundgarden Tour and also remixed "Find My Way".

A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle was formed in 1999 by Billy Howerdel, a guitar tech for NIN, Tool and Smashing Pumpkins. Although Howerdel had originally envisioned having a female vocalist, Maynard James Keenan offered his vocal abilities to the project after hearing some demos. Danny Lohner, Jeordie White, and Josh Freese are among the other members. APC opened for NIN during Fragility v2.0 in 2000. Josh Freese went on to play drums for NIN from 2005 to 2008.

A Place To Bury Strangers

A Place To Bury Strangers is an American noise rock band who opened for NIN during the Lights In The Sky Tour in 2008. They were featured on the tour EP.

PIG

PIG is a British industrial band who opened for NIN during the Self Destruct Tour in 1994. PIG was once signed to Nothing Records.

Pop Will Eat Itself

Pop Will Eat Itself is an English electronic band. They opened for NIN during the Further Down The Spiral Tour and original frontman Clint Mansell made guest appearances during the Nights Of Nothing Tour. PWEI was once signed to Nothing Records.

SONOIO

SONOIO is an alternative rock/electronica solo project from Alessandro Cortini that he began in 2010 after leaving NIN at the end of the Lights In The Sky Tour.

Telefon Tel Aviv

Telefon Tel Aviv is an American electronic band comprised of Josh Eustis and the late Charles Cooper. They have remixed several NIN tracks.

Treponem Pal

Treponem Pal is a French industrial band who opened for NIN during the Self Destruct Tour in 1994.

Tweaker

Chris Vrenna's electronic/jazz project Tweaker performed the Doom 3 title theme instead of NIN. Tweaker has 3 full-length albums.

Type O Negative

Type O Negative is an American gothic metal band who opened for NIN during the Self Destruct Tour in 1994.

White Rose Movement

White Rose Movement is a British post-punk band who opened for NIN during the Performance 2007 tour.
